A unique carousel
and traveling winch system was developed by OSA for supporting
the Cirque du Soleil areal performance. The mechanical design
was based on the initial concepts provided by Cirque du Soleil
and on the new ideas and required changes by OSA. More than 700
drawings were produced for the overhead carousel, traveler winches
and support structures within a four-month period for this schedule-driven
project. The system was built by Hoffend & Sons, Inc.
